Race: St. George Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:24:58
Total Distance

I was able to go down and run the St. George Half this year. In my opinion it was a really good race and the course was nice (but tough). I was debating on racing or just running for fun for a while now but I decided to just go out and race it. I started the race out a little too fast but once I got into my pace I felt good. About two miles in my quads started to feel unusually sore, I still don't know why because I feel I tapered well. Miles 6 and 7 were up a fairly steep hill and I was really happy with the pace I was running up the hill but once I hit the down hill my legs felt dead. Basically the rest of the race was flat and I just tried to stay under 7 min pace.

Splits: 6:08 (whoops), 6:21, 6:21, 6:18, 6:29, 6:41, 6:34, 6:17, 6:36, 7:00, 7:08, 6:47, and 6:30

Considering that the only thing that hurt during the race were my quads and how much I pushed it I know that I can have some better races to come.
