| | Five easy miles up Smithfield Canyon a ways then down to Mack Park. Overall l felt good My legs and back are sore from some unknown reason which was annoying.
| | It was VERY wet and rainy today on my run! I am not sure where I ran exactly but I got a few weird looks while running in the rain. Overall it wan a very easy run with a 7:34 average.
| | Today was just an easy 4.5 miles. I was originally planning on going on a trail run with Ethan but I wasn't able to go to his house so I just did another run by myself. I ran two miles from my house to Smithfield Canyon where I turned around and did a one mile tempo. I intended my tempo mile to be just under 6 but I guess I got excited and ran a 5:38 instead. |

Post xc 1600m race (1 Miles) 00:04:52, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | After state some xc guys wanted to get a new PR in the 1600 so conner offered to pace us to run sub 5. We got off to a good start conner said at the 600m mark I was on pace to run a 4:40 but naturally I slowed down a bit until the last 500 where I picked up the pace again. I came in at 4:52 which is a 17 second PR! This makes me really excited to start track this year, I feel if I train hard this winter I could definately be in the 4:30s.
| | 6 easy miles in Smithfield Canyon.
| | Today was a 4 mile tempo, my splits were 6:10, 6:00, 5:57, then 6:23. My lungs were burning the whole run which sucked and my last mile was not what I wanted but other than that I felt I had a good run. 1 mile warm and cool.
| | Just an easy 3.5 miles today, my calves are a little sore from yesterdays workout.
| | Met up with Conner after school to run an easy 8 up Smithfield Canyon, it felt pretty good.
| | Today I did 4x1600m repeats on the track, my splits were 5:36, 5:45, 5:47, and 5:51. I was hoping to get them all under 5:40 but at least I kept them all under tempo pace.
| |
| | Easy run with Conner after school it was a fun just a headwind on the way back.
| | I found some XC guys after school and we did an easy and kind of slow 6.5
| | Today was an awsome run, 10 easy miles up Smithfield Canyon.
| | Nice and easy 8 miles with Ethan after school, Ethan took me up Green Canyon where it was a little muddy and cold but it was still a good run.
| | 7 easy miles up Smithfield Canyon.
| | Ethan wanted to go on a run so I went to his house for an easy 8 when I got home Kyler wanted to go so I went 4.5 after with him. There was snow and hail but it was fun to go run with friends.
| | 5.5 easy miles around town.

Smithfield 5k turkey trot (3.1 Miles) 00:17:30, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | I woke up this morning and found a free entry for the Smithfield turkey trot so I thought I might as well go for it even though I wasn't initially planning on running it. The 5k runners started about 40-50 meters behind the 10k runners whick was annoying because within the first 30 seconds of the race I had quite a bit of people to pass. I got in the gutter of the road and tried to get past as many 10k'ers as possible. I found another 5k runner weaving through the crowd of runners in front of us. Luckily, for me, he tried to go to the outside of all the runners around a turn then tried to weave through the rest. Once we got through the crowd I decided to stick with him, we caught up to the front 10k pack a few minutes into the race then slowly passed them. By the time the 10k and 5k courses split we had a good 100m lead from the pack. I felt unusually tired by the end of the first mile (probably from my nerves), the other runner I was running with was running almost exactly my tempo pace (uphill) so I just decided to stick with him. Once the second mile and the uphill running ended I decided to pick up the pace, fortunately the runner that I was with before had become tired and that was when I knew I had the race. Overall I felt pretty good, I didn't do a good job of handling my nerves but I will have other chances at that before track. My splits were 5:51, 6:01, 5:28 and 10 seconds for the last three hundreths of a mile (sadly it wasn't a full 5k).
2.5 warm with 2, 1 minute intervals at 5k pace, and 2.5 cool.

| | 6 miles with Tyson and Ethan. Slow pace.
| | 6 miles with Kyler on saddleback. I ate too much before and we kept the pace sub 7 so I didn't feel the best.
| | 4 miles very slow and very hard. I didn't feel good at all my legs were tired, I was tired and I felt like I was barely moving.
| | I was super busy and wasn't able to get enough miles the last half of the week.
| | 6 easy miles with Tyson, Kyler, and Ethan. At the end Tyson and Kyler had to go to the bathroom so we sped up but Tyson and Kyler sped up a lot. I think they ran at least 5 min pace for the last mile.

| | 5 miles easy to Smithfield Canyon and then around the golf course.
| | a.m. three miles in 7 degrees, it was freezing cold but fun.
| | 5 miles with Kyler, Tyson, and Ethan, at each mile mark we did a 20 sec sprint. We averaged a 6:45 pace which felt really good compared to the cold weather.
| | 5 miles with Tyson and Ethan, it was fun because we got to run in the snow for a bit.
| | I was in a hurry this morning to get a run in so I only went 3.5, I felt kind of depressed at the end of my run because I didn't feel finished with my run.
| | 1.5 on the TM, it made me way dizzy afterwards.
| | Went with Conner, Tyson, and Kyler, we did 1x800, 1x400, and 4x200. We did the 8 and the 4 on the track with about two inches of snow which made the workout really hard. I think I ran the 8 in 2:45 and I ran the 4 in 1:23 so not great but not bad in the slippery snow. We did our 2's on the road and guessed with them so about 33 sec sprinting each. 1.5 warm and cool.
| | 4 easy with Tyson and Conner.
| | 10 miles up Smithfield canyon then through the campgrounds. I was having an awesome run until I got hungry 3 miles from home, then the sun was setting which made me cold.
| | 8 miles up Smithfield Canyon with Kyler, Tyson and Ethan. We were going pretty fast up the hill which kind of made me tired then on the way down my hamstring started to hurt a bit. It doesn't hurt anymore but I will try to take it easy if it acts up again, but my legs are feeling tired from today and yesterday.
| | 6 easy with Tyson, Kyler, and Ethan. We did golf course extended then ran up to a ridgeline called the pyramids.
| | I was originally planning or running farther but all I had time for was 9. My legs are tired and a little bit sore.
| | 6 miles with Tyson, Ethan, and Jordan.
| | 6 up Smithfield canyon, I felt good so on the way back I did 4x1 min intervals all under 5 min pace.
| | 6 miles easy, I ran with Alex, Tyson, Ethan and Conner for 4.
| | 3.5 easy I ran out of time so I couldn't go as long as I wanted
| | 3 miles easy, 2.5 of it was in snow and some of it was over a foot deep!
